We are looking for an individual to provide specialized Information Technology support for our strategic business partners within the client Corporate Center. Summary:

  • Design and build Workday Extend applications, custom UIs, orchestrations, and business-process extensions, that automate or enhance platform capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, and REST/SOAP APIs to exchange data reliably across internal and third-party systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions; contribute to integration standards, naming conventions, and reusable patterns.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production integration and Extend issues, partnering with vendors and platform teams to minimize disruption.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions, communicating trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Write and maintain technical specifications, design documentation, and runbooks for all solutions.
  • Monitor integration health, data quality, and performance; proactively identify and address risks before they become incidents.
  • Stay current on Workday Community releases, new features, and best practices; bring relevant innovations to the team's roadmap.
  • Provide mentorship and peer review support to less-experienced engineers on the team.

Beyond technical qualifications, we are looking for engineers who:

  • Take end-to-end ownership, you follow work from design through production and don't consider it done until it's running reliably.
  • Communicate risks proactively, you surface blockers and trade-offs early, with context and a recommended path forward.
  • Operate with platform-custodian mindset, you treat the Workday ecosystem as a product, not a project, and invest in its long-term health.
  • Thrive in ambiguity, you are comfortable moving forward with incomplete information while keeping stakeholders aligned.
  • Bring a learning orientation, Workday releases twice a year; you stay current and help the team do the same.

Skills: Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday technical development experience, including at minimum 2 years focused on Workday Extend application development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across core Workday integration toolsets: Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, Document Transformation, and XSLT.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday Extend, including Orchestrations, Business Object model, Workday Extend APIs, and custom application deployment.
  • Solid grasp of web services standards: REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and XSLT data transformation.
  • Experience with Workday HCM data structures and business processes across multiple functional domains (HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Benefits, or Absence).
  • Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (JavaScript, Java, Python) for integration scripting and tooling.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery, version control (Git), and CI/CD practices in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear technical specs and explain complex solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build Workday Extend applications and integrations.
  • Develop and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and design reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production integration and Extend issues.

  • Monitor integration health, data quality, and system performance
  • Provide mentorship and peer review support to junior engineers.
  • Stay updated with Workday releases and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cornerstone: Extend application integration to Workday
  • Workday certification(s) in Integrations, Workday Extend, or a related technical domain.
  • Experience with Workday Prism Analytics, BIRT report design, or Calculated Fields for advanced reporting scenarios.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), MuleSoft, or other enterprise iPaaS platforms.
  • Prior work in a retail, e-commerce, or workforce-intensive environment where scheduling, time-and-attendance, or commission systems are critical.
  • Experience building or supporting integrations across workforce management platforms (e.g., Kronos/UKG, Workday Scheduling) or payroll/commission systems.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (Big Query, Workday Prism) and understanding of data pipeline design for HR analytics.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks for Workday (e.g., Kainos) and a strong commitment to test-driven quality practices.
