Senior Network WAN Engineer

We Are Hiring Location: Remote Department: Core Tech Network Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday-Friday Salary: $116,413 - $162,273 per year #LI-REMOTE

What You Will Do

Own and optimize the enterprise WAN and SD-WAN environment, ensuring resilient, high-performance connectivity across geographically distributed locations and critical business operations. Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex WAN and routing issues, leading root-cause analysis and restoring service across large-scale, multi-site production networks. Drive continuous improvement of the network platform through SD-WAN optimization, upgrades, migrations, and operational enhancements across Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN environments. What You Will Need Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred. Additional Preferences 8–10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience Proven experience supporting large-scale, geographically distributed WAN environments Expert-level experience with: Cisco Meraki SD-WAN Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (Viptela) Strong expertise in: Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, policy control) WAN operations, failover, and traffic optimization Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-site network issues under pressure Experience working in mission-critical, high-availability environments Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Additional certifications strongly preferred: Cisco SD-WAN Specialist / Concentration exams CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure) Why Join Our Team Ascension is a leading nonprofit Catholic health system with a culture and associate experience grounded in service, growth, care and connection.
