They are seeking a dedicated Senior Database Administrator to manage diverse data environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability of their database systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support multiple database platforms, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Ensure database performance, availability, and reliability across environments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues in production systems
• Implement best practices for database maintenance, backups, and recovery
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support application development and data needs
• Optimize queries and database structures for performance and scalability
• Support ongoing growth of data infrastructure as new data sources are introduced
• Design, implement, and maintain monitoring dashboards in Datadog
• Create meaningful alerts that reduce noise and improve operational awareness
• Define service-level indicators (SLIs), service-level objectives (SLOs), and alert thresholds
• Develop monitoring strategies for databases, applications, infrastructure, and cloud services
• Build executive, operational, and engineering dashboards

Skills

• Strong experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), ideally in a senior-level role
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases
• Experience working with diverse data sources and environments
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning and optimization
• Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a growing, fast-paced team environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with Datadog monitoring and alerting
• Experience designing operational dashboards and observability strategies
• Knowledge of SRE principles and reliability engineering practices
