[Remote] Project Manager II

They are seeking a Project Manager II to oversee project deliverables and ensure timely completion of small-to-mid-sized projects while leading the delivery of high-quality solutions. This role involves assembling project teams, managing budgets, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles project teams and assigns individual responsibilities to ensure technical skills, capabilities, and expertise align with project objectives
  • Creates and communicates project scope in coordination with technical teams, schedule and budget with the project team, client, and contractors and serves as primary liaison by informing all parties of project progress and challenges
  • Develops project budgets, reviews costs, and tracks adherence of planned budget to maintain client satisfaction and contribute to the execution and financial success of projects
  • Secures appropriate resources for all stages of the project, ensuring timely completion of assignments
  • Develop the quality management plan with the project team to ensure client and firm standards are met
  • Recognizes potential risks or additional costs within project plans and implements strategies to minimize impact
  • Organizes and conducts routine project meetings with the client and project team to establish alignment on project expectations and performance
  • Documents all project deliverables and maintain records including correspondence, design plans, and other project related files
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients to secure future work
  • Coordinates contract negotiations and develop skills and understanding of other technical disciplines’ unique contract negotiation and billing requirements
  • Mentors staff within the team on project management best practices utilizing Olsson Project Management programs and other project assurance services resources
  • Ensure project data is maintained in accordance with project documentation requirements
  • Adheres to regulations and enforces safety standards

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, construction, planning, or a related area preferred
  • A minimum of six years of project experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry with increasing responsibility
  • May have Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent Project Management certification or degree
  • Adept in and manages projects in accordance with Olsson's PM Statement of Expectations
  • Successfully completes Olsson's Project Management Development training program and Olsson's Quality Management training within 12-18 months
  • Adept in engineering and design terms, contract requirements, project financials, and operations
  • Has excellent client service orientation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Solid interpersonal and decision-making skills and the ability to generate innovative and effective solutions to complex problems
  • Has high-level organization, leadership, and negotiation skills
  • Detailed understanding of how the firm operates as a consulting business and how this role contributes to the success of the organization
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving history
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required
  • Represents Olsson in a professional manner at all times
