Physical Therapist - Value Based Care

Remote · South Africa Full-time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assesses patient condition, establishes goals, treatments, and care plans in conjunction with the physician, patient/family. Ensures that appropriate treatment is performed in an interdisciplinary fashion, consulting with physicians about the impact of physical therapy factors on the patient’s health status. Documents findings, treatments, and other patient information for the medical record. Educates patient/family on appropriate care and use of various therapies/exercises. Serves as information/education resource for patients, families, and staff. Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Technicians. Serves as a resource to Physical Therapy staff. Provides ongoing education to the Physical Therapy staff. Assists the director with patient care issues. Maintains patient confidentiality. The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for the job position. EDUCATION Requires a Valid and active State Licensure Clinical Doctorate (DPT) preferred. EXPERIENCE Two years of experience in an out-patient or remote physical therapy clinic. Experience with orthopedics is required. Experience in remote work preferred. REQUIREMENTS Current state license. KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of physical therapy principles, standards, and applications. Knowledge of clinic policies, procedures, regulations, safety/infection control, quality control. Knowledge of how to use physical therapy equipment. Knowledge of medical terminology. SKILLS Skill in appropriate evaluation and treatment of patients. Skill in effectively communicating with in-house as well as external physicians and referral sources. Skill in using a computer system/EMR to accurately reproduce all appropriate documentation. Skill in accurate recognition of patient/clinic danger and appropriate fall risk patients. ABILITIES Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and staff. Ability to supervise and mentor physical therapy staff. Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form. Ability to be a resource to patients and staff. ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment. HIPAA compliant environment if remote. Some travel within the community. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office and remote environment. Some bending and stretching are required. Demands of kneeling, squatting, overhead lifting. Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
