About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement underwriting strategies for professional liability insurance products. Underwrite new and renewal business, evaluating complex risks and determining appropriate pricing and terms. Manage a profitable portfolio of professional liability accounts. Lead and mentor a team of professional liability underwriters, providing guidance and expertise. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents nationwide. Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging risks relevant to professional liability. Collaborate with product development and actuarial teams to enhance offerings. Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company objectives. Provide subject matter expertise and training on professional liability insurance to internal teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in professional liability insurance underwriting. Proven track record of successfully underwriting and managing complex professional liability risks. Strong understanding of various professional services industries and their associated risks. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills. Superior communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience using underwriting workstations and related technology. Ability to work independently and lead a remote team effectively, supporting national operations from anywhere.
