Lead Analyst, Automotive Semiconductor

Lead Analyst, Automotive Semiconductor Location: Europe (UK, Italy, France) or Detroit Area - Office, Hybrid, or Remote The Team: The EE&Semiconductor team at S&P Global Mobility is the undisputed global leader for automotive semiconductor market forecasting, tracking transformational technologies like SDV and advanced zonal architectures across the entire semiconductor ecosystem. The team has developed unique methodologies to quantify semiconductor demand by propulsion, architecture, and OEM, while maintaining close industry relationships to deliver innovative solutions that anticipate market needs. Responsibilities and Impact: Review and provide analytical guidance on quarterly automotive semiconductor forecasting through primary research and industry stakeholder interviews, delivering key market insights that drive strategic business decisions across global markets Conduct primary research with automotive semiconductor ecosystem stakeholders to validate market assumptions, track supply chain shifts, and identify emerging design trends that impact industry forecasts and client strategies Leverage teardown analysis and team interview insights to dynamically update market forecasts, review current predictions for improvement opportunities, and implement corrections to ensure forecast accuracy and reliability Provide timely customer support via email and phone while conducting regular face-to-face visits to industry stakeholders across the automotive semiconductor value chain from chip suppliers to Tier 1 suppliers to OEMs Present analysis and insights at client meetings, industry webinars, and conferences while serving as a media spokesperson for automotive semiconductor market developments and trends Drive cross-functional collaboration with editorial, marketing, and commercial enablement teams to develop thought leadership content, training materials, and go-to-market strategies while coordinating with regional EE&Semiconductor analysts and adjacent analyst teams covering vehicle sales, electrification, autonomy, and connected car technologies across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field from an accredited institution 5+ years of experience in automotive semiconductor industry, preferably as Field Application Engineer, Product Marketing, or similar technical role at automotive semiconductor suppliers Solid understanding of semiconductor technologies and automotive industry dynamics, including supply chain, design cycles, and market trends Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex technical data, market information, and teardown analysis to generate actionable insights Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences including clients, media, and industry stakeholders Willingness to travel regularly for face-to-face client meetings and industry events across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific regions Additional Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's/MBA) in Engineering, Business, or related field with focus on technology markets or automotive industry Experience in market research, forecasting, or analyst roles within technology or automotive sectors with demonstrated ability to build and maintain industry relationships Knowledge of teardown analysis methodologies and experience interpreting physical product analysis to derive market insights and competitive intelligence Proven track record in public speaking, media engagement, or thought leadership activities including conference presentations, webinars, or industry publications If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
