Freelance Animator – (Remote)
Join an exciting project developing a unique video game that blends the worlds of music and adventure. This role focuses on crafting a captivating 2D animated intro, approximately two minutes in length, to set the tone for a game where players manage a guitar shop by day and battle monsters by night. The animation should evoke the style and energy of Japanese hand-drawn animation, immersing players in the game's distinctive atmosphere. This is a fully remote opportunity, ideal for animators passionate about storytelling and video game aesthetics. Deliverables
- Create a 2-minute 2D animated intro sequence in a Japanese hand-drawn style, tailored for a video game context
- Collaborate with the game development team to ensure the animation aligns with the game's narrative and visual direction
- Deliver high-quality animation assets optimized for integration into the game engine
- Incorporate feedback and revisions efficiently to meet project milestones and deadlines Requirements
- Proven experience in 2D animation, with a strong portfolio showcasing hand-drawn, Japanese animation-inspired work
- Proficiency in industry-standard animation software (e.g., Toon Boom, Adobe Animate, TVPaint, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to create dynamic, engaging sequences suitable for video game intros
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and character animation
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote team environment
- Experience collaborating with game developers or working on video game projects is highly desirable
