Our Consulting practice partners with automakers, suppliers, investors, and adjacent industries to translate that intelligence into strategy, helping clients navigate electrification, software-defined vehicles, supply chain transformation, and shifting market dynamics. Position Summary We are seeking a Consulting Director to take on a senior leadership role within our automotive advisory practice, with a primary focus on the supplier ecosystem and on shaping and leading executive-level discussions. This is a client-facing, revenue-driving role for an established automotive consulting professional who can engage credibly with C-suite and senior executives, lead complex engagements end to end, and serve as a trusted advisor on the issues reshaping the industry. The successful candidate will combine deep automotive domain expertise with commercial acumen — building relationships, identifying opportunities, scoping and delivering high-impact work, and growing the supplier-focused portion of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

Translate S&P Global Mobility data, forecasts, and proprietary insight into strategic recommendations on topics such as electrification, market entry and growth, portfolio and capacity planning, M&A and due diligence, and supply chain resilience. Engagement Delivery Own the full engagement lifecycle: scoping, proposal development, project structuring, team leadership, quality control, and final delivery. Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams of consultants and analysts, ensuring rigorous analysis and a high standard of client deliverables. Manage engagement economics, timelines, and risk while maintaining strong client satisfaction. Business Development & Practice Growth Drive revenue by identifying, originating, and closing new consulting opportunities, with a particular emphasis on the supplier segment. Partner with colleagues across S&P Global Mobility's data and research teams to deliver integrated, differentiated solutions.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 15 years of experience within the automotive sector in an external consulting environment. Proven track record of advising and presenting to senior executives and C-suite stakeholders. Experience leading complex, multi-workstream consulting engagements from origination through delivery. Demonstrated business development success, including originating and closing consulting work. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage engagement profitability and client relationships. Excellent communication, facilitation, and executive presence. Based in the United States with the ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Bachelor's degree required.

Prior P&L or practice-leadership responsibility.
