Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager Location: Chicago, IL (Remote) Compensation: $130,000–$180,000

About the Role

About the Role This Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager will serve in a high-impact leadership role responsible for building, scaling, and leading the firm’s broader CAS and outsourced accounting function. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys combining operational leadership, client advisory work, and team development while helping shape the long-term direction of a growing practice. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on advisory exposure, offering visibility across service delivery, process development, pricing strategy, and team structure. You’ll partner closely with firm leadership while helping transition and expand the organization’s CAS offerings into a more scalable, advisory-focused model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, structure, and continued growth of the CAS practice
  • Oversee client advisory and outsourced accounting engagements across a diverse client base
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and relationship owner for key clients
  • Build scalable workflows, operational processes, and service standards across the department
  • Lead, mentor, and develop managers, supervisors, and broader CAS team members
  • Partner with leadership on pricing strategy, service offerings, and long-term growth initiatives
  • Drive process improvements, operational efficiency, and innovation across the practice
  • Ensure high-quality client service and consistent engagement delivery

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of accounting and/or Client Accounting Services experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within CAS, outsourced accounting, or a similar environment
  • Strong background managing multiple client engagements and advisory relationships
  • Experience building, scaling, or improving accounting service operations and processes
  • Strong understanding of accounting operations, payroll, and outsourced accounting services
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to lead change and drive growth initiatives
  • CPA or similar professional certification preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
