Agricultural Operations Manager

Position Summary Better Acre is hiring an Operations Manager to own the day-to-day execution of procurement, logistics, partner administration, and invoicing support across the business. This is a full-time, remote position reporting to the Managing Director of Better Acre. This role is dedicated to Better Acre and is responsible for keeping the operational engine running — managing manufacturing partners, coordinating shipments, supporting agents and distribution partners, and ensuring invoicing and accounting workflows are accurate and timely. Core Responsibilities Procurement & Manufacturing Partner Management

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for manufacturing partners and product suppliers
  • Issue purchase orders, confirm pricing and lead times, and track open orders through delivery
  • Maintain accurate product, pricing, and supplier records
  • Identify supply risks, cost variances, and opportunities for improved terms
  • Support evaluation and onboarding of new manufacturing or supplier partners

Logistics & Order Fulfillment

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with manufacturers, freight providers, and distribution partners
  • Track shipments from origin through delivery and proactively communicate status and exceptions
  • Verify receipts, reconcile shipment quantities against orders, and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain logistics documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, and delivery confirmations
  • Identify recurring logistics issues and lead process improvements

Administrative & Partner Communication

  • Manage routine administrative communication with agents and distribution partners regarding orders, shipments, product availability, and account information
  • Maintain organized records of agent and distributor activity, contact information, and active accounts
  • Coordinate documentation and information requests from partners and route them to the appropriate internal owner
  • Support sales and field staff with order entry, status updates, and customer-facing logistics information

Invoicing & Accounting Support

  • Partner with the bookkeeping function to prepare, issue, and track customer invoices
  • Reconcile vendor invoices against purchase orders and shipment records prior to approval
  • Monitor receivables status and follow up on outstanding balances with agents and distributors
  • Maintain accurate documentation supporting invoicing, AP, and AR activity

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, procurement, logistics, or supply chain coordination
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; comfortable managing multiple workstreams concurrently
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and standard business software; experience with ERP, accounting, or order management systems is a plus
  • Self-directed and accountable in a remote work environment
  • Background or interest in agriculture, ag inputs, or related industries preferred

Compensation

Base Salary: $70,000 annually Performance Bonus: Annual performance-based bonus available, tied to operational KPIs. Expectations This role requires a high level of accountability, organization, and responsiveness. Success will be measured by procurement and logistics execution, accuracy and timeliness of administrative and invoicing workflows, and the quality of communication with manufacturing partners, agents, and distribution partners.
